Share Your Truth
The Peace Poetry Project (PPP) is for youth (ages 9+), and adults. This is a Poetry writing and performing about peace experience. Participants get to explore their core desires and are inspiried to speak from that place. The PPP is leadership, public speaking, and telling your truth. Usually, poetry pauses thoughts in the minds of those ears that are touched. Peace, abstractly embraced, invites calm vibrations. Together, Peace and Poetry propose opportunities for self-acknowledgement, and appreciation of others, along with nature. Our words clarify our intentions,and desires. Words can remove confusion.
The PPP is a literacy, and leadership-building experience that encourages critical thinking, public speaking, and writing .
The Why
Peace
There's no need to discuss the harms occurring so often that we may be becoming desensitized to them. In some minds it may be like watching video games.
Society provides tools to make it easier to accept conflict over peace.
While we are visually and verbally feed conditions that appear unchangeable,
we get to remember the power of voice, of speaking, of envisioning.
The Peace Poetry Project is a process of uncovering your voice. It is an opportunity to speak into being a world, condition, or situation that is a possibility.
The beauty of poetry is the freedom to write in many forms and to not have to explain yourself. It is a craft calling readers, and listeners to think, and draw their own conclusions. Poets write their passion, and their passion is part of many other hearts. Sometimes it is just a matter of exposure that lights a flame.
The Peace Poetry Project is a platform for fire, to inspire, and be avilable for those seeking a way to be catalyists for change. Participants write, recite and have the option of being recorded, with the further option of their recording being on YouTube.
We communicate virtually without boundaries daily. Yet, fear appears to be in the air when it comes to accepting we are Earthlings before race, gender, or economics. We live in a universe. We are so much bigger than any destructive dividing messages attempting to distract us from our growth as planetary beings.
